With ASBL Kobika, we are committed to supporting two groups in Congo that are particularly vulnerable and stigmatized by society: the elderly and children with autism.

 

Both groups are often marginalized due to cultural beliefs and prejudices. Autistic children, considered “different,” are often rejected or hidden by their families to avoid disapproving looks. This stigma prevents them from integrating and accessing the resources they need.

Older people, on the other hand, frequently suffer from diseases such as dementia or Alzheimer's, which are sometimes wrongly perceived as signs of witchcraft. Their reduced mobility often makes them vulnerable and seen as an economic and emotional burden on their families.

 

Our mission is to combat this exclusion by providing tailored care and support, while raising awareness in the community to promote inclusion and respect for everyone.
